When I moved to Nashville I looked around for over six months for a gun safe. My head started spinning with all of the choices and information that I received.
Talked to every dealer in the area and most were helpful but a lot keep pushing one brand because that is all they carried, most of the big box stores only carry lower end import safes that were nothing more than window dressing and a sticker on the front of the safe. I finally went down to The Safe House and one of the guys down there cut through all of the BS and explained the differences between the brands, he carries a bunch of brands so he didn't push one over the other, just told me the differrneces and what was fact over fiction.
No pressure and as a matter of fact encouraged me to take my time and get the safe I felt fit my needs, he did stress to get a bigger safe than I thought I needed and I would say that was good advice! Because I would have already filled up the smaller one I was going to get the first time i looked. These guys are top notch and will expain stuf and don't mind you asking dumb questions over and over like I did the three times I came by there showroom. I would recommend them to anyone. With their 12-gauge steel bodies and gunmetal or black finishes, Winchester safes are out to show potential burglars that they’re all business. You won’t have to worry with a Winchester gun safe in your home, guarding your guns, documents, and other valuables as Winchester has been doing for a long time. I have a big problem with the way that these gun safe manufacturers are rating these safes for the number of long guns that they will hold.
Champion and Superior do build their lower end safes in Mexico. They use U.S.
STEEL and make a good product but they are manufactured in Nogales, Mexico. Basically if there's an 'M' in the serial number, it's from Mexico. I wish they were all U.S. Made but after many competing safe companies started manufacturing safes in China, Champion and Superior went to Mexico. My prices are consistantly fair but they can indeed be matched or beat. Value and price are different.
I make a lot of friends selling safes. I've had a lot of jobs over the years, military, law enforcement, construction, park ranger and others but none compare to what I do now. I have more fun selling safes and meeting the people who buy them than I could have imagined when I got into this business. The people that buy quality safes are of a unique caliber. They are almost always good folks.
I do my best to get to know them and figure out their particular safe needs. By the time we're done talking safes, we've usually esablished a lot of common ground relating to God, guns, family and country. Friendships are established.
If you're after the cheapest safe, there are many other places to buy. To us at Parker's Safes and Vaults, prices are important, but quality and lasting value matter more. I can vouch for Aaron he is good to deal with I'm very happy with my Superior, But is allready to smallav88tor is correct.

If you're in/near Nashville, really ought to give the guys at The Safe House a call. That said, the Winchester is also rated to 1400 degrees for 30 minutes. It has a limited lifetime warranty, and TSC has a link to that warranty on the more information page. The winchester is UL listed for burgulary.
The Cannon doesn't appear to be.Internal hinges on the Cannon mean the door clearance is less. Basically reduces the ease of access to the safe for you. Don't make getting into your safe a chore. If I had to choose, I'd buy the winchester.BUT - as I said first, contact the guys at The Safe House.
My buddy has bought from them twice, and now that he's on his third safe, he hates that he's moved to Memphis because he can't reasonably buy from them. Heck, even then you might want to call em.
They know their safes.Way better than I do.Yep. They'll tell you everything you want to know and then some. I bought my Liberty from them and a happy camper. I bought a Cannon 24gun Safe at TSC. I had a lot of trouble with the keypad not unlatching the door.
I would have to find a 9v battery as close to 10 volts as possible. It took 2 yrs to talk Cannon into fixing it. They told me to level the safe.
Turn the handle a certain way before typing the combo. I offered to do the repairs if they sent a new keypad. That's been about 3 yrs ago.
Its worked fine since then. My brother has a bigger Cannon and has had no problems for over a year now.I'm happy with my $600 safe now.
Just wish Cannon would have been more helpful 2yrs sooner. I bought the Winchester safe from TSC about two years ago. I have zero complaints with it. (except it must be shrinking because there's less room in it now than there was;)). It was heavier than it looked when I installed it. However, once open, the door removes easily and helps with the weight.(Old thread I know) I have the exact same problem with mine. I have to say though, with the inserts in, 24 guns will not fit in that safe.
Even with the door hanger. Must be a Glock friendly safe, because I have to squeeze my 1911's in the pouches.
